Farewell Courtesy Call from Ambassador Gerhard Thiedemann

Suva – The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister Mr. Yogesh J. Karan, on Thursday 18 April, 2019 received a courtesy call from the Non-Resident Ambassador for Germany His Excellency Gerhard Thiedemann who is based in Wellington, New Zealand.

Ambassador Gerhard Thiedemann completes his term and is retiring in June of 2019 thus the call was a farewell call in which the outgoing Ambassador emphasized the importance of Fiji’s cooperation with Germany and discussed with Permanent Secretary Karan the progress of projects under the GIZ programme and other important areas of mutual cooperation.

Ambassador Gerhard Thiedemann visited the Fiji group frequently during his term to attend meetings and had the opportunity to visit the islands of Taveuni, Ovalau and Kadavu.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister thanked Ambassador Thiedemann for paying him a farewell call and wished him well on his retirement.
