GOOD SAMARITANS DONATE TO THE PRIME MINISTER’S TC YASA RELIEF FUND- (29-01-2021)

Suva- Generous donations from various organisations continue to pour in to assist those affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Today, three such organizations presented their assistance to the Prime Minister Honourable J. V. Bainimarama to support Government’s rehabilitation efforts following the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Courts Fiji Limited presented a cheque of $250,000.00; Fiji Water Foundation handed over a cheque of $125,575.55; whilst the Fiji Police Force presented a cheque of $30,000.
Courts and Vision Investments Limited chairman Mr Dilip Khatri said while the company sympathises with those affected families, they believe it is the company’s moral responsibility to meaningfully respond and assist communities in need.
“We want to assist the Government in its rehabilitation efforts,” he said.
Fiji Water Foundation representative Mr Geoffrey Smith shared similar sentiments, saying that the organisation also wanted to extend a helping hand to the affected families and be part of the Fijian Government’s rehabilitation and relief efforts.
Fiji Police Force Acting Commissioner of Police Mr Rusiate Tudravu said the voluntary donation by the Fiji Police Force was part of their assistance and support towards those impacted by TC Yasa.
He said the Fiji Police Force was also committed to assisting those in need during these trying times.
In receiving the cheques, Prime Minister Bainimarama sincerely thanked Courts Fiji Limited, Fiji Water Foundation and the Fiji Police Force for their kind and generous assistance.
The Head of Government added that these donations will certainly “go a long way” in rebuilding the lives of those affected by TC Yasa.
