The Prime Minister, Hon. Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama officially opened the new rice mill for Fiji Rice Limited (FRL) in Macuata yesterday. Fiji Rice Limited being the successor to Rewa Rice Limited since its inception in 1966.
“The new rice mill, worth approximately $0.5million, will supplement the existing mill. The investment in the new Mill comes with several benefits to farmers, community and the company itself.”
Honourable Prime Minister emphasized that the farmers in the North and customers all over Fiji are important to Fiji Rice and this investment will provide new employment opportunities for the people of Dreketi, allow the mill process a better level of paddy and improve the quality of milled rice.
