PM opens Jioma Foot Crossing

Veimolimoli Primary School students of Jioma Village will no longer have to worry about having to wade across Naivaniqa Creek to get to school following the opening of the new Jioma foot crossing on January 25, 2017 by the Prime Minister Honourable Voreqe Bainimarama.

Parents will no longer have to carry their children across the swollen creek when it breaks its banks during heavy rains to reach the other side safely.

Students of VPS will now also no longer have to worry about missing school either, as in the past classes were cancelled whenever the water level rose.

The new foot crossing also benefits the people of Soso, Niudua and Vukavu.

In opening the foot crossing Mr. Bainimarama said every community in Fiji is important.

The project is made possible through the assistance of the Divisional Commissioner Eastern office.
