Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka
traditionally received the casket of the late High Commissioner of Fiji to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Mosese Tikoitoga at the Nadi International Airport through the “ivakasobu” earlier this evening.
The late High Commissioner Tikoitoga passed away in Port Moresby on the 29th of December, 2023.
PM Rabuka, in a moving ceremony, conveyed the nation’s gratitude to the Papua New Guinea Government for its unwavering support and dedication to the late High Commissioner.
The former Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has been recognised for his exceptional leadership, dedication and passion in fostering stronger ties between Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
In expressing the Fiji Government and the people of Fiji’s condolences to the late diplomat’s family, the Prime Minister shared that the late High Commissioner has made Fiji proud through his dedicated service and commitment.
The late High Commissioner’s casket was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Jiu Tikoitoga and Fiji’s First Secretary to Papua New Guinea Mr Paulo Daurewa.
He will be laid to rest on Friday.
