Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka attended the Beating Retreat ceremony at the RFMF’s Queen Elizabeth Barracks earlier this evening.
He was joined by New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Winston Peters, who is in the country for an official visit, and members of cabinet.
The RFMF’s traditional ceremony of the Beating Retreat was followed by the lowering of the Fiji flag and a solemn moment to honour the dedicated service of the military.
The auspicious occasion also marked the important relationship and renewed ties between the government and the military.
