PRIME MINISTER RABUKA URGES CHILDREN TO STUDY HARD IN SCHOOL-(05-02-2023)

Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka has encouraged the children of Viseisei in Vuda to focus on their goals and study hard in school in order to become successful in life.
He was speaking during today’s church service at the Viseisei Methodist Church where the children in the village received the ‘holy communion’ ahead of the new school term which begins tomorrow.
The church was packed to full capacity as throngs of people came out to attend the new month’s service (Lotu Vulavou), usually observed in the Methodist calendar.
The Prime Minister also urged the children to always listen and respect their parents for this is the foundation of their success in life.
He also stressed that the People’s Coalition Government will continue to prioritise the education of children in Fiji.
In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Rabuka, while quoting the Methodist Church founder, Reverend John Wesley, told the children; “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can”.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also presented his ‘isevusevu’ to the Na Momo Levu Na Tui Vuda Ratu Kitione Eparama Tavaiqia where he acknowledged the vanua’s ongoing support over the years.
He thanked the Vanua O Vuda for the warm welcome, adding that any traditional ceremony of welcome accorded to him is also for the government that he leads.
Prime Minister Rabuka took the opportunity to also apologise on behalf of the government for ‘the mistakes of the past’ and also assured the villagers that the Coalition Government is here to serve everyone.
