RESOURCES MUST CATER FOR POPULATION GROWTH: PRIME MINISTER ADDRESSES BUA PROVINCIAL COUNCIL-(17-08-2023)

The heart of government’s work is its responsibility to the people.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made the comments at the Bua Provincial Council meeting in Nabouwalu today.
The Prime Minister told traditional leaders and district representatives attending the meeting that compared to Macuata and Cakaudrove, Bua is the only province recording population growth.
He urged those in attendance to ensure that as the number of people in the province increased, public services like schools and hospitals will need to increase their capacity as well.
Prime Minister Rabuka said foreign partners have expressed renewed interest in Fiji and as leader of government he is determined to work towards securing support to develop our agriculture sector and shipping industry.
The People’s Coalition government, Prime Minister Rabuka said would not only work on improving the Look North Policy but also implement the Rural and Outer Island Development programme.
He urged the provincial council to consider securing ownership for real estate in the capital city which has the potential to generate healthy returns for the province.
