VUO SUPERMARKET A GOOD MODEL OF PARTNERSHIP- PRIME MINISTER RABUKA

A business venture between a landowning unit and a local entrepreneur in Labasa is expected to boost economic activities in the northern town.
As part of his 10-day official tour of the northern division, Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka visited Vuo Supermarket where he was briefed about the operation and development plans of the multi-million-dollar project.
Located in Vunika, the joint business investment is a project co-owned by the Turaga na Tui Labasa, Ratu Jone Qomate and local businessman Mr Jitendra Chand.
Prime Minister Rabuka acknowledged the business partnership, adding it was a good example of working together for the greater good of the people and the community.
Supermarket finance director Mr Ravinesh Prasad, while briefing the Prime Minister, said they have bigger plans in place to further expand the supermarket.
He thanked the Prime Minister for visiting them, saying their business was in line with the Government’s development plans for the north.
Vuo Supermarket includes a service station and a rental car business. Plans are also in place to venture into a housing project and a golf course.
A total of $3.6million has been invested into the four-phase project.
