WOWS KIDS FIJI MEETS WITH MRS RABUKA-(07-03-2023)

The wife of the Prime Minister, Mrs Suluweti Rabuka met with WOWS Kids Fiji co-founder, Mrs Sina Kami and her team in Suva today.
The meeting was an opportunity for the WOWS Kids Fiji Team to brief Mrs Rabuka on the operations of the non-profit charity foundation for children living with cancer in Fiji.
Mrs Rabuka was informed that the organisation works closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in coordinating and providing support for families and children with cancer.
The organisation also provides support for children from the other Pacific Island countries who come to Fiji for cancer treatment.
In her brief, Mrs Kami told Mrs Rabuka that the foundation is presently supporting 76 children with cancer from across the nation.
The foundation is currently assisting these children and their families with transportation costs, chemotherapy and other essential needs.
Mrs Kami highlighted that the birth of the foundation in 2009 was inspired by her late daughter, Tae Kami who died of cancer in August, 2008.
WOWS Kids Fiji is affiliated to the Tae Kami Foundation in Tonga.
Mrs Rabuka commended the work of the foundation, at the same time, acknowledged its tremendous support and in improving the lives of many children living with cancer in Fiji and the Pacific over the years.
