ASSISTANT MINISTER TUBUNA MEETS WITH THE MANAGER OF IWGP-(02-03-2023)

The Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Honorable Sakiusa Tubuna received an introductory courtesy call from the Manager of International Affairs for the Global International Women’s Peace Group (IWGP), Ms. Kay Kim in his office today.
Discussions at the meeting were centered on areas of joint initiatives and potential collaboration including women, peace and security.
Assistant Minister Tubuna reaffirmed that the Coalition Government will continue to support global institutions such as IWPG to promote peace building in the local communities.
The IWPG will engage in a variety of activities to promote a lot of discussions and work in Fiji, with women, therefore, channeling peace service deliverables for the needy widows, solo mothers, and young adults.
This collaboration will create lasting impacts on growth and psychological and economical stabilities which will ultimately improve livelihoods for women in the region.
The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) is a non-profit organisation based in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Since it’s foundation in September 2013, the IWPG has formed a global network that transcends national borders, race, religions and ideologies to realize world peace.
There are over 100 branches around the world with more than 230 cooperation groups.
Meanwhile the International Women’s Peace Group (IWGP) has branches in the Oceania region in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Marshall Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Palau, Kiribati, Tuvalu and Samoa.
