Prime Minister & Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sitiveni Rabuka received a farewell call from the outgoing Secretary- General of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIFs), Mr Henry Puna this afternoon.
Mr Puna served as Secretary-General for three years.
During his tenure, he was instrumental in his role, achieving milestone achievements, including endorsement of the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent and the Pacific Roadmap for Economic Development.
On behalf of the people of Fiji and the Coalition Government, PM Rabuka thanked Mr Puna for his dedication and commitment to advancing the collective welfare and aspirations of Pacific island nations.
The Prime Minister wished Mr Puna well in his future endeavors.
The outgoing SG also played a key role in promoting gender equality, enhancing resilience, forging new partnerships, advancing climate action initiatives, addressing debt crisis and facilitating trade and economic development across the region.
