Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, in his Easter message yesterday (15:04:2025), called on all civil servants and leaders across the nation to recommit themselves to a life of sacrifice, service, and unwavering dedication to the people of Fiji.
Addressing the ministers, permanent secretaries, Commissioner of Police and senior officers, and civil servants at the Combined Easter Church service at Centenary Methodist Church in Suva, PM Rabuka said they were all servants of the people and the state of Fiji.
“We gather together to commemorate, to remember, to celebrate sacrifice, a sacrifice that was made on our behalf – that death is our death, that cross is a cross we should have been nailed on. We are spared because God himself gave his only Son to take our place on that cross. Let that be our takeaway message from this Easter and every Easter from here on,” Hon. Rabuka stated.
PM Rabuka said the sacrifice of God’s own son on the cross was for everyone, and it was expected of people to make sacrifices day and night.
“If you think about work, it demands sacrifice for our life and our time.”
“This Easter, let us all recommit ourselves to this calling to be servants of the state and all the people of Fiji. Let us stand up to it; let us be ready; let us take it on; let us show them, yes, we volunteered, we put our hands up, we tried, we trained and we are ready, and we will continue to do our best. Stay firm, stay committed.”
“Focus on your calling to be the sacrificial lamb for all the people of Fiji and the state that you love so much.”
