This was the message conveyed by the Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka while officiating the annual Bose Vakayabaki for the Suva Methodist Church Division yesterday.
Delivering his remarks in the iTaukei language, PM Rabuka told those in attendance that the church plays a crucial in building a better Fiji.
He stressed the importance of faithful service to God and challenged Fijians to respect one another and live disciplined lives.
The Prime Minister also raised concern over the growing issues of domestic violence and drug abuse in Fiji, calling on the church to continue its vital role in addressing these challenges.
He urged the church to strengthen its advocacy on the protection of women and girls, and the senior citizens of this great nation.
On youth development, the PM further stressed the need for more collaboration among relevant authorities, including the church, and also ongoing support and care.
In his concluding remarks, Hon. Rabuka stated that; “whether we serve in government, the military or within the vanua, it is crucial that we to lead by example, and to live in a way that reflects the outcome and spirit of the Bose Vakayabaki”.
