In a heartfelt celebration of achievement, Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka today applauded the graduating class of Pacific Polytech, Nausori Campus, for their accomplishments and inspirational journey that brought them to this moment.
Speaking to an audience of proud families, faculty, and industry partners, the Prime Minister hailed the 181 graduates as change-makers, community builders, and symbols of “what’s possible when education becomes accessible, inclusive, and practical”.
“This is no ordinary graduation ceremony. It is a testament to determination, to second chances, and to the power of skills-based education in transforming lives, especially for those who might otherwise be left behind,” said PM Rabuka.
Established in the wake of the closure of the Technical Colleges of Fiji, Pacific Polytech has evolved into one of the country’s leading technical institutions, now spanning 13 campuses and training centres with over 3,200 graduates since 2023.
“The Government of Fiji is pleased to support this important work. Technical education must be seen as a national solution—neither a default nor fallback option. Rather, it is a powerful, practical pathway to employment, entrepreneurship, and community development,” stressed the PM.
“That is why we are committed to supporting institutions like Pacific Polytech, who are not only providing training, but helping solve real problems—unemployment, social exclusion, skills mismatch and poverty.”
Today’s graduates have completed the National Certificate, Level 3 programmes in high-demand sectors including Automotive, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, IT and Business.
“The Government is pleased to walk this journey alongside Pacific Polytech. We hear the stories, we see the results and we know that every student trained here represents not just an individual success, but family stability, restored dignity and a stronger Fiji,” PM Rabuka added.
“We will continue to invest in technical education and support NGO providers like Pacific Polytech who are taking education to the doorstep of rural communities and hard to reach regions.“
To the graduates, the PM urged them to remain committed to lifelong learning, and to lead with integrity, humility, and purpose.
The head of the coalition government concluded by expressing his gratitude to the faculty and leadership of Pacific Polytech for their vision, dedication, and belief in every student’s potential.
