On this blessed occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Fiji and across the world.
The life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) remind us of the enduring values of compassion, humility, peace, and justice. His message continues to inspire us to live with kindness toward one another and with deep respect for the dignity of every human being.
Here in Fiji, we are richly blessed by our diversity of races, religions, and cultures. It is in this diversity that we find our strength as one nation. Today, as we reflect on the Prophet’s message of love and mercy, let us recommit ourselves to building bridges of understanding and unity among all communities.
This is especially true for our Muslim brothers and sisters who call Fiji home. Though you may be a minority, your contribution to the development of our economy and our island nation has been exceptional. Both before and after Independence, members of the Muslim community have left a lasting mark through their dedication to nation-building. Fiji is all the richer for your hard work and loyal support.
As we celebrate this holy day, I urge every Fijian; regardless of race, faith, or background, to embrace the spirit of peace and compassion. Let us foster harmony in our neighborhoods, respect in our workplaces, and love within our homes. May we honor each other not only for who we are but also for the contributions we each bring to the beautiful mosaic of our nation.
