PRIME MINISTER RABUKA FORMALLY INFORMED OF THE PASSING OF THE LATE PS RURAL AND MARITIME DEVELOPMENT-(29-09-2025)

The Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka was today formally informed by the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, and his delegation of the untimely passing of the Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, the late Mr Isoa Talemaibua.
Prime Minister Rabuka expressed deep sorrow at the news and extended his heartfelt condolences to the late Permanent Secretary’s family, colleagues, and friends.
“The late Permanent Secretary served Fiji with distinction, dedication, and a deep sense of duty. His passing is a great loss not only to the Ministry but also to the entire civil service and the nation,” the Prime Minister said.
The Government acknowledges with gratitude the Permanent Secretary’s many years of service and his contributions to advancing rural and maritime development.
The late Mr Talemaibua served as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management since 2023.
Information regarding his funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course in consultation with the family and the line ministry.
