Development growth in Navua is expected to be further boosted as another project by B Prasad & Sons PTE Limited, in partnership with Total Energy Limited, breaks ground today.
Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new service station, lube bay, and car wash project, which marks another milestone in private sector-led growth and regional development.
In his official address, Prime Minister Rabuka commended the company for its vision, confidence, and continued investment in Fiji’s economic progress.
“Today, we are not only breaking ground for a new business facility, we are also laying the foundation for service and convenience, opportunity, and economic growth for the people of Navua and the surrounding communities,” he said.
“It is a symbol of confidence in our economy, in the people of Navua, and in the future of the private sector in Fiji.”
The Prime Minister highlighted B Prasad & Sons’ remarkable journey from its humble beginnings as a small furniture shop in Toorak more than three decades ago to becoming one of Fiji’s leading manufacturers and now a growing force in property and commercial development.
“I am deeply encouraged to see local businesses like B Prasad & Sons investing in communities outside of our urban centres. This is precisely the kind of partnership that the Coalition Government is fostering—where the private sector plays an active role in national development, and where all Fijians—whether in Suva or Navua—share in the benefits of growth.”
“When local businesses grow, they create jobs, strengthen communities, and contribute directly to our shared prosperity,” the Prime Minister said.
The head of the coalition government asserted that this investment aligns with several key priorities of the Government’s National Development Plan 2025-2030 and Vision 2050.
The project will generate local employment, create new opportunities for contractors and suppliers, catalyst to other forms of development and businesses while enhancing accessibility of services to residents, farmers, and transport providers in the Navua area.
In closing, the Prime Minister thanked B Prasad & Sons Pte Ltd and Total Energy Ltd for their commitment and partnership.
“Your partnership reflects the spirit of resilience and innovation that defines our nation. I commend you for stepping forward—not just as a business—but as a partner in development,” he added.
