The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) today (05:11:2025) provided an update to Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka and members of Cabinet on key developments, challenges, and strategic initiatives currently being undertaken by the Board.
The TLTB delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Solomone Nata, accompanied by members of the Executive Management and Senior Managers.
The presentation covered several key discussion areas, including current projects and operational highlights, institutional, operational and legal challenges affecting service delivery.
Among the updates discussed were the land reversion processes and implications for landowners, updates on Crown Grant and Native grant claims, and the status of outstanding claims and efforts to resolve historical land issues.
The Board also outlined its new business initiatives, aimed at enhancing landowner benefits and revenue generation.
A major focus of the discussions was the progress on reviewing and amending relevant legislation including TLTA and ALTA, and the modernisation of the iTaukei Land Trust Act to reflect current realities.
Prime Minister Hon. Rabuka commended the TLTB for its continued efforts and emphasised the importance of fulfilling the moral duty to serve all Fijians.
Also present at the briefing were the Minister for Information, Hon. Lynda Tabuya, the Minister for Public Works, Transport and Meteorological Services Hon. Ro Filipe Tuisawau, Minister for Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Management Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka and the Minister for Agriculture Hon. Tomasi Tunabuna.
