The Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Honourable Sakiusa Tubuna met with the Director-General of the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) Mr Sefanaia Nawadra yesterday.
Discussions at the meeting focused on areas of collaboration and partnership in the environment space, among other priorities.
Mr Tubuna said that the people’s coalition government is willing to work with organisations like SPREP to further advance environmental commitments, seek technical support and also to leverage funding assistance for environment projects in Fiji.
He highlighted that such partnership is necessary in order to fulfill the environment mandates of the Fiji Government.
SPREP’s mandate is to promote cooperation in the Pacific region and provide assistance in order to protect and improve the environment and to ensure sustainable development for future generations.
