MEU Northern Sit Visit

Site visits were conducted by the Monitoring Evaluation Unit around the Northern Division covering Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata provinces from June 15th – 20th, 2015. The site visit was conducted by two (2) teams, Ms. Mere Varani and Mr. Eroni Seru covering Bua, Macuata and Savusavu urban while Mr. Wame Qalinauci and Mr. Josefata Waqalala covered Cakaudrove. The projects covered were selected based on the 80% – 100% completion rate for the year. These are projects/programmes that were specifically given more budgetary allocation and also those pending from 2014 site visit inspection.

Director MEU Ms. Amelia Komaisavai said that site visits enabled us to monitor the progress of projects that are currently being implemented on the ground. She highlighted that the people would eventually be beneficiaries of these projects which are being funded by the Government.

“The site visits and verifications also bestows an opportunity to collaborate with our respective stakeholders such as the Government Ministries and Departments on a consistent basis to ensure effective preparation and implementation of the projects being undertaken, said Ms. Komaisavai.

Some of the projects visited and verified during the site visits in the Northern Division include the water tanks supplied by the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management and the One Laptop Per Child initiative by the Ministry of Education. The teams also visited the project sites of Ministry of Agriculture and Fiji Police Force respectively.

The fundamental objective of the site visits to the North in the provinces of Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata include the monitoring of some of these Ministries projects and it was evident that all the project works have been completed.
