Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka this morning emphasised the critical role of strong and meaningful public-private partnerships to drive sustainable development and economic resilience for the nation.
While officiating at the 2024 Top Executives (TOPEX) Conference at Nadi’s Sofitel Resort and Spa on Denarau, PM Rabuka asserted that close collaboration between these sectors will ensure that “we effectively address emerging challenges, leverage new opportunities, and work towards our shared national goals for growth and prosperity”.
“This collaboration plays a crucial role in enabling the Fijian Government to address the nation’s development and growth effectively.
“I am confident that the outcome statement from this year’s conference will provide a valuable framework to help shape our path forward. The thematic areas that will be discussed are of critical importance, and I know the government is eager to explore ways we can work together to integrate these priorities into our strategic planning and development.”
PM Rabuka shared that Fiji’s private sector is a vital force in the nation’s progress.
“I commend the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) for showcasing remarkable growth and setting a high standard with a conference that brings together leading figures from the private sector in one room to celebrate the positive outcomes and address how to improve on other challenges,” added the PM.
“Doing it together, such as this, signifies the strength in standing in unity, empowering each other to face the socio-economic challenges in the country.”
With the theme; Collaborative Action for Sustainable Growth-Delivering on Our 2030 Commitment, the two-day conference will focus on forging new pathways and fresh perspectives to address local and global business concerns.
Facilitated by the FCEF, TOPEX is a premium conference for thought leadership, innovative discussions and powerful networking and a platform to effectively shape the business landscape in Fiji.
A total of 400 representatives from more than 200 organisations are part of this year’s TOPEX conference.
