The Hon. Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka received a High End acoustic guitar made completely of Fiji Plantation Mahogany, by United States leading acoustic guitar manufacturer, Taylor Guitars.
The guitar, valued at over $6000, was presented to Mr. Rabuka by Mr.Christopher Cosgrove, Wood Operations and Wood Sourcing Manager at Taylor Guitars, based in San Diego, California.
Since 2010, Mr. Cosgrove has been instrumental in establishing a strong relationship with Fiji for supply of high grade mahogany through a locally private owned ITaukei company, Tabs Investment. Tabs Investments Director, Mr. Uluibau Tabete has been at the forefront of maintaining high end relationships with major guitar brands bringing high premium value returns for our mahogany wood through direct export to manufacturers.
Today’s presentation symbolizes new and positive changes for the future of Fiji’s mahogany industry and its contribution to Fiji’s growing economy through continued relationship trade with world famous guitar brands and other high end mahogany users.
The guitar brand is used by world famous music artists, such as Sir Paul McCartney of the Beatles; Taylor Swift; Katy Perry and many more.
