Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka today commissioned the new flight simulators for Fiji Airways, making it another significant landmark achievement for the aviation academy.
During the commissioning, Prime Minister Rabuka shared that the investment in the simulators, totaling around FJ$160 million, is a testament to Fiji Airways’ confidence in the country’s future.
“The investments made in this state-of-the-art facility underscore the airline’s dedication to technological advancement, operational excellence, and, most importantly, the development of our local talent,” said PM Rabuka.
“By providing world-class training locally, Fiji Airways is empowering more Fijians to pursue careers in aviation without the need to travel overseas.
“It represents a broader commitment to enhancing Fiji’s position as a hub for aviation training in the Asia Pacific region.”
The Prime Minister asserted that the new facility would attract trainees and pilots not only from Fiji but also from across the region.
The increased training capabilities of the Aviation Academy will also ensure that Fiji maintains the highest standards of safety and service, which are crucial in enhancing the travel experience of our visitors.
It also aligns with the Fiji Government’s plans to become the regional hub for aviation training in the Pacific.
