PRIME MINISTER RABUKA THANKS CIVIL SERVANTS IN TAVEUNI FOR THEIR “DEDICATION TO SERVICE” (13-05-23)

Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka met with civil servants on the garden island last night (12.05.23) where he assured them of the coalition Government’s support to their work.
In his address at Waiyevo Government Station, he stressed the need for civil servants to be wise in managing the resources given to them to serve the general public.
He highlighted the financial challenges and national debt issue, adding that the upcoming budget would be a “needs based budget”.
“We must be very wise in how we manage resources, not only at political level but at the administration level as well, and each stage that you are engaged in,” he said.
Prime Minister Rabuka, at the same time, assured the government officials that their request for quarters and office renovations would be looked into.
Even though the officials were under-resourced, he thanked them for continuing the good work and for serving the public with diligence.
The civil servants also had the opportunity to raise their issues and concerns directly with the Prime Minister.
